Conference Participants

John Murdoch - Director of GARBC Chaplaincy Ministries

After serving in the pastorate for twenty-seven years and having vast experience in chaplaincy roles, John Murdoch became Director of GARBC Chaplaincy Ministries in 1997. Prior to joining the GARBC administrative team, John served in the U.S. Army and as chaplain of various agencies, including the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), the civilian auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, a Philadelphia hospital, and the Indiana State Police. John is actively involved in the endorsing community in Washington, D.C., where he has served on the Executive Committees of both NCMAF (National Conference on Ministry to the Armed Forces) and ECVAC (Endorsers Conference on Veterans Affairs Chaplaincy). He was elected vice president of the Military Chaplains Association of the United States of America in 2002, and in 2004 was elected president.

Jim Jeffery - President, Baptist Bible College and Seminary, Clarks Summit, PA

Jim Jeffery became President of Baptist Bible College & Seminary on August 1, 2001. He served on the Board of Trustees for 11 years prior to his appointment, including three years as chairman. Jim soon began to outline his personal vision and mission for the College and Seminary. The phrase that best summarizes this is Excellence in Biblical Higher Education for Effectiveness in Global Christian Leadership. A servant's heart and desire to serve God with humility and excellence have characterized Jim's life and ministry. His fervent desire is that he walk humbly with God. As a gifted communicator with a heart to encourage and disciple, Jim's ministry is both powerful and personal. God has used his wisdom and authenticity to change lives in pastoral ministry as well as student lives at BBC&S.

Curt Jones - ABWE Regional Administrators for East Asia, including China, Hong, Kong, and Mongolia. Curt & Bonnie Jones provide leadership and oversight to mission teams in the region and have a ministry with nationals. They are based in Stayton, Oregon. They have been in ministry for nearly 30 years, serving as pastor of two churches in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to their responsibilities as regional administrators, they are involved in three ministries within China.  First, they recruit and train Americans to work in English Camp each summer in China. Second, they spend several weeks each year working with the staff in two orphanages.  Third, they are involved in pastoral training in China.  Much of their work in the States involves presenting this ministry in churches, providing opportunities for American believers to get personally involved in the work God is doing in China.
